DJ earned his BA in Soviet Area Studies and Russian from Duke University and his MA and PhD in Political Science from UCLA.

DJ frequently speaks to and writes for top-level business audiences and he has appeared on CNN, the BBC, NKK, and CNBC. He is based in Los Angeles, California.
