The best part of my job is the people. Each day I get to work next to some of the best leaders, engineers, problem-solvers, and all-around dedicated manufacturing professionals. I have an opportunity to make a difference; to help our employees reach their full potential while meeting the demands of our customers.
Success for me is seeing my team and my organization flourish. I never aspired to be in a senior leadership role, but I feel very fortunate to be in my position now as it allows me to be able to help others grow and reach their goals. Regardless of the goal I set for myself, it is just as important that I achieve that goal with integrity. I can’t say I’m successful at the cost of my ethics.
My biggest challenge right now is time management and balance. It’s hard to make sure that I am meeting the needs of the business, ensuring our employees are well-supported and engaged, and making time for my own development. I’m fortunate that I have a great team. If I were only relying on myself, I would be “sunk” but fortunately I have a great support system. They keep me grounded and are always ready to jump in to help.
My family and I are big animal lovers. We are huge fans of the Austin Animal Center. My last three pets were adopted from this no-kill shelter. Donating your time, money, and/or goods to the Austin Animal Center or other organizations like it provides so much joy to the world. Animals ask for very little and give us abundant companionship and love. If you’ve never visited the organization, you should check them out. They are wonderful and can always use a helpful hand or donations.
Happiness is a choice. I choose to be happy and smile even when things are hard. So, my song would be, “Happy” by Pharrell.
There are so many amazing things to do in Austin but a visit to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is one of my favorite things to do!
