CEO 2024 Year-End Summary

As 2024 comes to a close, we at ARMA would like to wish you Happy Holidays! I wanted to take a moment to provide an update on the accomplishments of 2024 and provide a preview of what’s to come in 2025.

Leadership Change

September 20, 2023 - When ARMA was formed in 2013 it was with the hope that by bringing Austin’s manufacturing community together we could help strengthen the business environment, bring more prosperity to our members, and deliver long-overdue recognition for an overlooked sector in Central Texas. For 10 years, we have done exactly that, and I am proud of what we have achieved together.

ARMA 2022 Awards Winners Announced!

Thank you to all who joined us at the ARMA Awards Luncheon (A.K.A The ARMIES) sponsored by Regions Bank. It was a great way to celebrate the people and companies that make our manufacturing community so strong.

We are happy to announce the finalists for the 2022 ARMA Manufacturing Awards! There were over 40 amazing companies and individuals that were nominated. Our official Awards Luncheon, sponsored by Regions Bank, will be on February 23rd to announce the winners.

ARMA Kicks Off 2022 By Welcoming New Board Members

The Austin Regional Manufacturers Association (ARMA) today announced the appointment of new board leadership and three new board members to lead the organization’s work promoting manufacturing in schools and in the community and ensuring the Central Texas labor pool has the skills necessary to support growth in the industry. 

Mask & Vaccination Policy Survey Results

Masks guidelines and employee vaccination concerns are causing challenges within our membership. We recently hosted a discussion to get a better understanding of how area companies are responding to the changing landscape around COVID safety, along with a memberwide survey.

Weather Updates and County Orders

ARMA is currently monitoring the weather situation and the potential disruption it might cause Central Texas Manufacturers. We will release information as it becomes available from the City of Austin and other organizations working on this issue. We are working on guidance for when to expect Travis County to rescind the current Order. Continue to monitor this page for updates and resources.

Workforce Pipeline Survey Results

In September, the Austin Regional Manufacturing Association (ARMA) conducted a survey among the 1700 manufacturers in the region to assess the state of local industry. With the Texas unemployment rate hovering at 6.8% and Austin at 5.5%, manufacturers reportedly are looking to hire across many disciplines, including assemblers, operators, technicians, engineers, sales, supervisors, chemists, welders, delivery drivers, marketing and more.

The 7th Annual Golf Tournament presented by Spirit of Texas Bank was a great success. While the pandemic made it a bit different than previous years, we still had a lot of fun and beautiful weather!
